  • Chloe's caterpillar

    Chloe found a lovely big caterpillar on her way home from school. It's an Elephant Hawkmoth, named because the caterpillar looks like an elephant's trunk. Its front end has evolved to look like a snake with large false eyes to scare predators away! The adult moth (which will emerge next June after pupation) is an amazingly beautiful pink and green creature.
