We believe that a school uniform encourages a sense of belonging and unique identity for our school children. We also like our pupils to dress smartly to show they have pride in their appearance.
Staff at Scalford School strive to promote neat presentation in all areas, whether it’s the way we dress, present the children’s work or look after our school buildings.
We discourage ear rings. If they are worn they must only be a small stud type. Please note, children will be responsible for their own jewellery at all times. They will need to remove all jewellery before any physical activities, including swimming and keep them in a safe place.
Looking very smart in our school uniform

It is important that children wear sensible, flat shoes. This is because they have to walk to and from the village hall every day. Slip on shoes or ballerina style are therefore not appropriate.
Pupils may bring a small rucksack to school to carry their PE kits, as this is much easier for them to carry than the traditional draw string PE bags.
Pupils should bring a draw string bag to school to carry their PE kit.
Should be smart. A warm coat is recommended for the winter months, preferably with a fitted hat (to prevent losing hats). We also recommend a light waterproof coat during the warmer months as our British weather is so unpredictable and the children do walk up to the village hall every day, regardless of the ‘majority’ of the weather (except in exceptional circumstances).
