At Scalford, children have the choice of a hot meal or bringing a packed lunch.
Scalford has been awarded the ‘Healthy School Accreditation’ and as part of this we encourage both pupils and their parents to eat healthy options.
The children walk up to the village hall at lunchtimes to enjoy eating and socialising together. At present, approximately 40% of children choose to have hot lunches.
Currently if you child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 they will received their school dinner free of charge under a government scheme. If your child is Year 3 or above the cost of a school dinner is £2.45 per day.
Our dinner menu rotates on a three week cycle, and can be read below.
We regularly use the village hall for PE, lunchtimes and other activities requiring more space.
Children walk to and from the village hall each day, contributing to our healthy lifestyles. Children are taught about the importance of road safety and walking procedures are regularly reviewed.
