What a fantastic couple of performances! Our version of the Jungle Book was such good fun to put on and the children were superb, singing, acting and dancing their hearts out. Well done Base 3!
A team of eight Y5 & Y6 children attended the local rugby tournament at the ever-welcoming Melton Rugby Club today. Despite never having played as a team before, they did exceptionally well and quickly came together as a very efficient team, winning nearly all of their games and coming second in the competition overall. What's more, our team won the coveted 'Spirit of the Games' award for the side that showed the best attitude, sportsmanship and honesty. Well done!
The Base 1 children enjoying some expert tennis coaching.
Despite our fears, we didn't overheat and we had a wonderful breezy afternoon enjoying Sports Day. So many wonderful performances and a few memorable moments. Thanks to FOSS for the refreshments and to Miss Moore for organising everything so well!
In Base 3 we have been exploring two big questions recently:
As part of this work, we looked for small objects to present as sculptures and we even made plinths for them. We tried to imagine what it would be like if these objects were enormous and so we made minifigures of ourselves to help us visualise this.
Base 1 and Base 2 enjoyed a lovely sunny day at Bradgate Park, enjoying the wildlife and learning about stone age people.
We had our summer term Messy Fiesta yesterday and the theme was 'friendship'. As usual we explored this through four activities, grouped in our houses. We made healthy smoothies and sat and enjoyed them with our friends, taking time to slow down and catch up with friends that we hadn't seen for a week. We also made friendship bracelets to give to our friends. We went on a friendship treasure hunt and explored how our actions might strengthen or weaken friendships. We also made some collage pictures to complete our 'Big Frieze'. It was such a wonderful day!
