Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We were visited by several members of The Melton Band on Tuesday. They treated the whole school to a little concert in the church, playing all sorts of well known tunes. As well as listening to the brilliant live music, we got the chance to learn about how these instruments worked. Children interested in the possibility of learning to play a brass instrument and joining the training band can find out more on their website: https://themeltonband.wordpress.com
We had great fun raising funds today with a 'Break the Rules Day' organised by FOSS. Children could pay to break all sorts of rules!
It's already that time of year - the Y6 children are in their final few weeks at Scalford School, SATs are done and the Leavers' Hoodies have arrived.
SATs are over and the Year 6 children have been fantastic this week. They have worked extremely hard and showed amazing perseverance, determination and resilience. Well done - you should all be very proud of yourselves! Thank you also to the School Governors who gave up their time to come and help invigilate.
As part of our extended VE Day commemorations, Base 3 visited Scalford Court Care Home today. We sang some old songs to the residents in the sunshine. Many of them joined in and afterwards we enjoyed chatting to them. Some children were able to see great grandparents and we also met Molly, who used to teach at Scalford School! They very kindly gave us cakes and juice too. What a wonderful afternoon.
We all dressed in red, white and blue today for the 80th anniversary of VE Day. We will have a special assembly and the older children will be visiting an exhibition in the church.
