• Swimming Gala

  A committed squad of Y5 and Y6 children took part in the Melton Primary Swimming Gala and we were very proud of them all. A fantastic event!

  

• Matilda

  Yesterday, Year 6 went to watch a production of 'Matilda' put on by the Priory Belvoir Academy in Bottesford, along with Y6 children from lots of other local primary schools. It was a great show! 

  

• Basketball Squad

  Well done to our Y6 basketball squad who participated in a Vale tournament at Redmile School today. They played with energy, enthusiasm and skill and only lost one game!

  

• New Walk Museum Visit

  Base 3 had a very enjoyable trip to this wonderful museum yesterday. The children spent time in several galleries including the dinosaurs, fossils and rocks; Stories from Leicester; Ancient Eygpt; and the brilliant art gallery that was full of pictures submitted by members of the public and children as young as five! They were blown away by the talent on show. 

  

• Young Farmers Visit

  We were visited by members of Melton Young Farmers on Friday. They told us about the crops that were grown locally and what happened to them. They also talked about the animals that were farmed and how they looked after them. Then we got to have a look at one of their enormous tractors! The local young farmers club actually meets at Scalford village hall on a Tuesday night. You don't have to be a farmer and you can join up from the age of 10!

  

• Carol Service

  We finished term with a wonderful Carol Service today and every child in school had a part to play. Special mention must go to the Year 6 children who performed beautiful solos. Well done! Have a great Christmas everyone and see you in the New Year! 

  

• Christmas Party!

  Yesterday we had our Christmas dinner and party. Delicious food and lots of crazy fun and games! Thank you to FOSS for buying the pass the parcel prizes and boxes of chocolates.

  

• Elves

  Our wonderful elves have visited today and helped all the children to choose and wrap special presents for family members. Thank you elves!

  

• Christmas Tree Festival

  The Scalford Christmas Tree Festival is getting underway in the church today, so a team of Y6 girls helped put up the tree and then every child in school has made a decoration to put on it. We're looking forward to seeing the church when all the trees are done. 

  

• Nativity!

  The church was full to the brim for both performances of our Nativity. What a wonderful show of support - thank you. Putting on a performance like this is hard work, but a lot of fun. The children were brilliant and we are now feeling more Christmassy than ever!
