Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
A team of 6 Scalford students attended a chess tournament with 8 other schools last week. They returned proudly bearing bronze medals. Well done to all our amazing players!
Parents and children gathered at the church today for our Remembrance Service and wasn't it nice to see the sun for the first time in a while!
Base 1 have been walking around the village looking for signs of Autumn.
Year 6 have spent some time accounting today. We've been through all our takings from the Tenner Challenge, the original £10 notes have been returned and the remaining profit is a fantastic £261! Well done to all our budding entrepreneurs.
As always, the first day after a half term break is spent enjoying a Messy Fiesta! We work in our houses on a carousel of activities based around a particular Christian value. Today we were focusing on 'forgiveness'. There was art, craft, stories, singing and a story treasure hunt. The children were brilliant and continue to amaze us with their wisdom and insights.
The Year 6 children have been brilliant entrepreneurs and fund-raisers! Given £10 each by the school to invest in a anything they like to raise money, the only rule was that you had to give the £10 back at the end, ideally with some profit. Well, we've not counted up yet, but the school safe is full and they have done very well! A great end to a wonderful first half of the Autumn Term. Happy holidays everyone!
We love Drumba! PE and music all rolled into one amazing, energetic session!
Thank you to everyone who contributed food to Dove Cottage Day Hospice! We hope you enjoyed our Harvest Festival Service in which every child in school performed in the church.
As we prepare for our Harvest Festival Service, we have been learning about crops that grow around Scalford. We walked up to the old Scalford Station and visited Towns Agriculture, where crops are stored, dried and sold. We also learnt about the recycling of agricultural plastics.
We try hard to keep active at Scalford, but it's always good to have another reason. Today it is 'National Fitness Day' so we sprinkled every lesson with a few more minutes of physical activity!
